Angina Pectoris

Angina pectoris is the medical term for chest pain or discomfort due to heart diseases. Angina pain occurs due to the blockage in the arteries which occurs when the fats accumulates in the walls of the arteries and affects the flow of blood.

Angina pectoris is the temporary chest discomfort that occurs when the heart does not get the required amount of blood it needs. It can also occur due to blockage of one or more arteries and due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. The pain is felt like a fullness, squeezing or pain in the centre of the chest. The pains can extent to jaws, throat and shoulder blades.

Angina pectoris attacks when the heart gets a short or restricted supply of oxygen and blood. It may be caused due to the fat deposits inside the walls of the arteries that block the regular flow of blood and when this condition persists for too long, it leads to angina attack.Causes and Symptoms of Angina Pectoris.

Physical exercise
Psychological stress
Extreme cold
A heavy metal
Lack of blood oxygen in the heart
Symptoms
A squeezing on the chest or heavy sensation
Shortness of breath
Numbness in arms, shoulders, elbow or hand.
Sweating
Why Does Angina Pectoris Occur
There may be a number of factors responsible for angina pectoris, they may be either hereditary or they make occur with age due to imbalanced diet or hectic life style.

A family history
Hypertension
Smoking
Male sex
Diabetes
Obesity
Lack of physical activity
One can get angina pectoris attack resulting from a number of reasons and it can be avoided by improving the life style and the eating habits. If not treated on time, it may lead to other severe problems.
