High blood pressure plays a very crucial role in causing heart disease as it narrow downs the arteries that causes slow down of blood circulation. When there are obstructions in the blood flow, it can cause over working of the heart and lead to various heart diseases.
Alcohol avoidance is another step to prevent heart diseases. People who drink heavily are more likely to die of heart disease than those who do not. Therefore, alcohol consumption should be moderate.


Eating habits are another important factor. Eating well can help prevent heart disease for a long time. Cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity, all result from over eating. Thus to prevent heart diseases, eating habits should be carefully monitored.

No one food can provide all the nutrition you need, so you must eat variety of foods every day from the following four food groups:

Bread, other cereals and potatoes
Fruits and vegetables
Low-fat milk and dairy foods
Meat, fish and alternatives such as beans and lentils
